I am specialist shoulder surgeon in Cardiff with a holistic approach to shoulder problems. My practice has evolved to become specialised in soft tissue and sports injuries with specific interest in the latest arthroscopic techniques.

Growing up in Cardiff, I attended university in Nottingham, returning to Wales for my surgical training. I completed two fellowships in shoulder surgery and sports injury in Sydney, Australia, where I trained in arthroscopy and minimally invasive surgery.

The most common shoulder disorders include:

  • Rotator cuff disorders (a group of muscles and tendons that surround the shoulder joint), including impingement, bursitis, tendonitis, and tears, which can cause pain in your joint.

  • Frozen shoulder, which is a painful condition that restricts your normal movement in the joint and can sometimes prevent you from moving your shoulder entirely.

  • Shoulder inflammation and acute problems.

  • Shoulder instability, due to a dislocation or excess movement in the shoulder known as hypermobility.

  • Acromio-clavicular (AC) joint disorders, including arthritis and dislocations, which affect the joint at the top of the shoulder.
